A little confused.....
Poor Gabi, I think we're confusing her with our accents and the accents around us, I think we sound very British, although our family and friends in England think we sound American (we've been here a long time). Anyway I just noticed Gabi is not sure how to pronounce can't she usually says it both ways, car'nt (English pronunciation) and can't the American way, I can hear her back and forth trying to find one that fits...how funny! Our little Mayan living in USA with a British accent....LOVE IT!

Tea for two...
One of our favorite things to do these days is to have tea parties, sometimes for dinner sometimes for lunch and sometimes just because.. I made the food and Gabi decorated.
The atmosphere is always very casual.
With lots of water pouring
and more pouring.
I copied this of another blog, forgot which one now, but you put little things in the bottle and then fill with rice (if you want to color the rice like I did just add some rubbing alcohol and food coloring and let dry out) then the kids have to find the things in the bottle...lots of fun, pouty lips are optional but cute if you have them!

Preschool??
I had decided not to send Gabi to school in September, I thought I would leave it another year, because she goes to gymnastics every week and story time with a play date afterwards, and pizza with friends, so she is great at playing/sharing/communicating with other kids her age. Gabi is also very sociable and friendly, we do lots of crafts and art at home and she goes everywhere with me so I thought that is enough for her age.
Now I'm on the fence more leaning towards sending her because it's seems most people send them at this age (and although I am not someone who does something just because everyone else does it) and I don't want to deny her this.
Gabi is also with me 24/7, we don't use babysitters it's just us, all of our family on both sides still live in England and there are very few people I would leave her with. So now I'm starting to think I should send her just to give her the chance to get used to being without me for a couple of hours twice a week. I'm sure she will love it!
Wow it's tough to think of sending her off to school it just seems like we came home from Guatemala a few months ago :o)

"Why"?

I am now asked this question about 45,ooo times a day or every time I talk, whichever is the most!!!!
I realised pretty quickly that it's really just a knee jerk reaction rather than an actual question, here is a typical conversation.
Me: OK Gabi let's get your coat on we have to go.
Gabi: Why?
Me: Because it's 10.30 and you have gymnastics.
Gabi: Why?
Me: Because you love going.
Gabi: Why?
Me: Because chickens are funny!
Gabi: Mama you're crazy.
Me: Good let's go!
I've decided to answer once or twice properly and then something completely off the wall....it keeps me from banging my head into the closest wall and it makes her laugh.
