She picked a pickle.....
We were in the store a couple of days ago, I told Gabi she could pick out a new decoration for her tree, this is what she picked.........yep a pickle!! Gabi has never seen or tried a pickle but she loved it!
I didn't try to change her mind I wanted it to be her choice. Here it is hanging in all it's glory!

Do you know the tradition w/ the pickle ornament? Several of our friends do it here in St. Louis. After the kids go to bed Christmas Eve, the parents hide the pickle ornament somewhere in the tree and the first kid to find it in the morning gets an extra gift.
Ooh thanks Katie, I had no idea, and I am all about making (or stealing) new traditions. Pretty good chance Gabi will be the first kid to find it!
She cracks me up with the mad things she does! Had to laugh at Jamie as well there were all these lovely decorations to hang on his tree and he chose this paper decoration that Taylor made a few years ago and plonked it right in the middle. Have to say though never seen a Pickle as an tree bauble - only the Americans eh!!
Nikki we have a pickle ornament that we hide in the tree and the kid that finds it gets to open a small prize. We've done this for several years and the kids enjoy it. Have fun with the pickle!!! P.S. The girl has taste - that is a beautiful pickle!
