Yay!!

Gabi took her first poop on the potty today!!!! I haven't really been training her but she knows what the potty is and what you do in it, so today she told me 'Mama poop' and I said 'do you want to poop on the potty' and she said yes, and she did it, we are so proud of her! You have to be a parent to get excited about stuff like this.

Not just any old bottle of wine.....

Back in 1993 Kevin was given this wine by some people at work, it was 10 years old then and apparently a very good wine (I don't like wine so I have no clue) anyway for some reason he was saving it. I think he just wanted to keep it, anyway it moved houses with us in various different wine holders/racks etc just waiting to be opened.

Well two years ago Kevin's kids were both here from England for Father's day we were having a nice meal at home and finally persuaded him that it was a perfect time to open it and share it with both the kids, well it was a great wine and everyone enjoyed it, being a dork Kevin kept the bottle and put it on the shelf in the dining room and......................

We didn't know it until four days later but they had drank the wine the day that Gabi was born, pretty special wine huh!!! The bottle still sits on the shelf and we have a great story for Gabi someday.

Pick your own!

Today I took Gabi to a pick your own peaches/nectarines farm, what a great thing to do with a toddler, she loved it. Some of the fruit that was not ready yet was a little hard for her to pull off, but she gave it a good try!

Yummy yummy, the nectarines tasted sooooo good. The other day I heard someone on the food network say that the way to tell if a peach is good is just to smell it and if it smells like a peach it's good, well every store I have been to since then I have smelled all the peaches and not one had any smell to it, and this is the garden state!!!!! Well these peaches smelled like the peachiest peaches ever! Yum.

Little miss personality.

My main purpose of this blog is to be used in lieu of keeping up baby books, scrap books, photo albums etc, so time is going by so quickly and it's amazing how quickly you forget what your child was like just one or two months ago so I am going to keep some reminders for Gabi's future reference! Gabi your new nick name is beans because you recently learned how to jump properly with both feet leaving the ground at the same time and you jump all the time, it cracks me up. Funny girl!

You are so polite to everyone including strangers and you always say please and thank you, which is so important to me. Thank you.

At the moment you call Daddy...my Daddy Papa, just yesterday you told me, Mama, Daddy Papa be home half an hour. Here you are trying to fill Daddy Papa's boots!

You talk so much from morning til night often repeating yourself around 500 times (well almost) some of the words you use blow me away and you can speak in sentences of about 7 or 8 words.

You love to sort things into catagaries, you have four or five different types of plastic coins and I always find them in groups that are color or size coordinated. You love to find things that match together, you are a mix of chaos and order, just like me!

You like to refer to yourself as a big girl and are determined to do 'big girl things' at other times you are happy to still be my baby. You do have a little chilli pepper temper but it very rarely shows itself and you have an amazing amount of self control when it comes to getting mad!

You love to 'help' you are so good at following directions and only have to be shown things once, you are a clever girl.

You hug and kiss us a million times a day, you are so loving and affectionate and I hope it lasts forever.......

When we go to the playground or park you love to pick up and play with mulch, stones, twigs, sticks, pull the grass out of the ground, I guess textures are your thing right now!

You are the happiest girl I know, you will sing, dance and goof off at any chance you get, you often call me a cuckoo when we do this stuff together.

All in all you are a fantastic 2 year old and we love you more each and every day!

Rides, rides & more rides!

One of Gabi's favorite things to do is go on rides, the faster and scarier the better! She literaly squeels with delight when they go up or fast. A few pics from some of the places we have been lately.

How great are washable finger paints? I gave Gabi some to play with today, and play she did! So excited.
