Happy Halloween ....part 2

Here are a few of Gabi's friends who she went trick or treating with. It did'nt take her long to realise if you take candy out of the dishes and put it in the bag it's yours! We rarely ever give Gabi candy, so she was so excited to have all this sweet stuff in her bag that she chewed through some of the papers to try to get to the candy....poor baby! Gabi was so proud to be Minnie Mouse and has been excited to wear her dress. How cute do all the kids look in their costumes????? Good times!

Hi Lis, I tried all day to get Gabi to say your name, but she just laughed at me!! Maybe tomorrow I'll try Sister. Just wanted to say we miss you!

Petting Zoo

So I took Gabi to The Petting Zoo by our house thinking she would love it, she loves dogs and Old Macdonald and all her toys animals so why not the real thing? Her favorite things about the zoo was the swings and the hand sanitizers next to every animal pen!!!! She would barely look at the animals I swear she even tried to kick the goat after the pic was taken...little monkey. Anyway we had fun and very clean hands!

Pumpkins, Hay rides and Pony's OH MY!!

Ok so fall is my absolute favorite time of the year. I love when the trees change to beautiful bright yellows and deep reds and oranges, I love the food, when Dunkin Donuts gets their Pumpkins Spice donuts in I am in heaven. I love pumpkin pie so much that I have been known to eat it all yer round. My local Barnes & Noble sell The Cheesecake Factory pumpkin cheesecake....can you imagine the excitement????? Warm clothing (although this afternoon I am taking Gabi to the petting Zoo in a t-shirt, it's so warm) anyway let me continue..the smell of cinnamon and nutmeg, the promise of Christmas not far away. Anyway you get my point. This year I want to add to the list the look of sheer joy on Gabi's face as we entered the pumpkin patch and she got to pick a pumpkin and take a hayride, and ride a pony and watch the pig race etc...I think we have another big Fall fan on our hands. I wish you all a fantastic season. Did I mention apple cider??

I just wanted to send out lots of love and good vibes for all the famlies adopting from Guatemala who are still in process. I hope over the next weeks as we all frantically sign petitions, make lots of phone calls and send many emails that our voices are heard loud and clear and that 'those in power' will do the right thing. Our adoption took awhile and was hard enough, but I can't begin to imagine what it feels like to also have so much uncertainty in the air. I wish you all well and let's get these babies home where they belong!!

Ribs of love!

A good friend of ours gave us this Rib recipe a while ago and now Kevin makes them, I have to say they are the best ribs I have ever tasted and everyone just loves them. They are called 'Ribs of Love' because they take a while to prepare and cook. Gabi loves them too! We just gave Gabi a bite of ribs for the pics and the rest I chopped up for her, although she would love to eat them right off the bone. Gabi is not known for turning down any food!
